    # 9 The Dumbest Animals in the World: Kakapo

The dumbest animals in the world: Kakapo
Although parrots are generally very intelligent birds, the kakapo is one of the dumbest animals out there.

Kakapo from New Zealand makes the list as the dumbest bird – the parrot owl. The species is a large flightless bird. A nocturnal animal, this terrestrial bird belongs to the Strigopoidea superfamily in its home country. Besides, the bird is incredibly dumb. He has no value for his own life.

Imagine a scenario: a predator spies on prey. The predator can sneak up slowly. Or the creature could be hitting the pavement in a mad dash. Never mind. One way or another, the predator attacks. Here’s the catch: the predator can be a cat, an ermine, a rat, or whatever. Prey – Kakapo. Kakapo doesn’t move. It doesn’t blink. Even if he sees an attack from another continent. The bird freezes and waits for food.

If that’s not enough, Kakapo’s inability to reproduce is overwhelming. The mating call is so disturbing that it leaves the female dazed and bewildered. This makes pairing difficult as no one knows what is going on or what to do. Unfortunately, and perhaps not surprisingly, there were fewer than 200 Capapos on the planet as of 2020.
