Most high school students make some money by babysitting or mowing lawns, and spend their earnings on movie tickets and shopping. But 14-year-old Jason Kimberly from Houston, who has raised thousands of dollars over the past few years, has donated his money to stray animals at shelters – for which PETA awards him the Animal Hero Award.

Not only does Jason help animals by raising money for their veterinary care and food, he also founded a non-profit organization called Leave It Buzz, which aims to raise awareness among young people about the plight of homeless, abused and abandoned animals. …
Jason has been dedicated to helping rejected pets since he was 11 when he began collecting supplies for shelters. His big heart, unwavering determination and life change are an inspiration to all animal carers and proof that you can change the world for the better, no matter your age.
This empathetic and passionate student is currently collecting T-shirts from animal shelters, rescue services, and shelters to make blankets that will be auctioned with profits returned to animal shelters.
We’re confident this project won’t be too difficult for Jason, who has been going to school every day since eighth grade with a new T-shirt from the orphanage, and plans to continue his streak in high school!

What can you do to help
You can join Jason in helping stray animals, helping stop the overpopulation crisis at its source.
