Harpersville, New York – Below you will find a statement by PETA Foundation Veterinarian Dr. Heather Rally in response to the recent death of April the giraffe, whose pregnancies and births from Animal Adventure Park were broadcast live:
The tragedy here is not that April died, but that she never knew life without staring spectators or live cameras, like the babies that were taken from her and sent to other roadside zoos. PETA is urging Animal Adventure Park to end this sad cycle and stop using giraffe mothers as breeding machines in a few extra clicks.
