In a recent survey of marine painters, 868 adults in New York were surveyed and the results showed that the vast majority 91% of respondents reported that they never walk the tracks in this state to place bets on the races during the normal year. Only 5% reported walking once a year, 1% twice, and 3% three or more times. Reports show that the survey results reflect an overall decline in traffic on New York City circuits.

While interest in racing is waning, corporate wealth continues

Billions of casino taxes that could funding the growing sectors of business, education, or other organizations that serve the majority of New Yorkers, instead funding this failed private gambling business, owned by some of the richest families in the world. Over the past four years, $ 1 billion in subsidies has gone to 11 state-owned enterprises – and through cash prizes (wallets) into the pockets of billionaires such as Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Horses are still dying on the roads of New York

What did the New York State Gaming Commission do about 71 horse deaths in 2021? Not enough.

What if several New York Yankees players died on a baseball field every month? What if dozens of New York Jets footballers were fatally injured in training? How will government officials react? They will take immediate and decisive action to stop the carnage.

survey shows that 91% of New Yorkers do not ride on racetracks

Horses are intelligent, empathetic animals that should not be forced to suffer and die. If the industry cannot keep its “athletes” alive, then racing must stop. Government officials have not done their utmost to stop the loss of life, despite receiving simple, life-saving advice from PETA for improving the industry and calling to protect horses from more than 100,000 interested people.

    What can you do

Please inform the New York State Gaming Commission to take action now to prevent more horses from dying on tracks in the state.

    Act for the horses!
