Seattle – Tomorrow, a group of PETA supporters, including one dressed as Dorothy, a monkey who was exploited at the Washington National Primate Research Center (WaNPRC) until its fragile, sick body collapsed, will visit the University of Washington (UW) campus. first day of class with the message “New to campus? Torment monkeys – no. Another protester will wear a television showing footage of university experiments on monkeys.

    When: Wednesday, September 29, 11: 45-13: 00

Where: UW Red Square in front of the Suzzallo Library

“WaNPRC’s activities have been hidden from students and faculty for too long – and they need to know the truth,” says PETA senior scientific advisor Dr. Lisa Jones-Engel, a primate scientist and former UW professor. “PETA urges UW to close this cruel laboratory and release the surviving monkeys to respected safe havens where they can finally enjoy peace, friendship and proper care.”

PETA, whose motto is in part that “animals are not ours to experiment on” – opposes arrogance, a worldview focused on human excellence.
