Atlanta – Since Americans file their taxes, Bill Maher stars in a new PETA video in which the government condemns us for everything need to stop: spending taxpayer money – in this case on animal experiments, for which the National Institutes of Health has funded roughly $ 18 billion just last year. The video was posted on social media and on conservative websites in Atlanta, home to the Yerkes National Primate Research Center, during World Animal Week in the Labs (April 19-25).

“Experiments on animals are not only cruel, they don’t work,” says Maher in his video titled “The New Rule: Listen to PETA.” He explains: “Ninety-five percent of new drugs that work in animal testing do not work in humans. Ninety-five percent. A drug tested in mice has about the same chance of hitting the market as Joe Exotic to get its mullet back in vogue. “

He goes on to describe just a few of the cruel and meaningless animal tests of “junk science”, including those in which experimenters opened cat’s skulls, stunned them, and ripped little monkeys away from their mothers to torture them with fake snakes. “These are the kind of things that, if a child did them, you would know that they will grow up to be serial killers!” he notes. “And the National Institutes of Health, which is funding these experiments? More like the National Hell Institute. “

In the hellish laboratories of the United States every year, tens of millions of animals are poisoned, burned, slaughtered, emotionally traumatized and infected with disease, suffering from intense stress and frustration. No experiment is prohibited by law – no matter how painful or inappropriate – and almost all of the animals used in the experiments were subsequently killed.

Finally, Maher encourages everyone to take part in high-tech, non-animal research. “Stopping animal experimentation is not rocket science,” he says. “It’s simple OK the science.”

PETA, whose motto is in part that “animals are not ours to experiment on” – opposes arrogance, a worldview focused on human excellence. For more information please visit PETA.org or subscribe to the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram…
