According to Mars Petcare Canada, there has been a voluntary recall from multiple Whiskas dry cat food products as a precaution because the products do not meet very strict internal quality specifications. Mars Petcare has extremely strict food grade specifications that ensure the safety of its products before they are sold to the general public.
In addition to deciding to recall certain products just in case, Mars Petcare has provided a full list of the products and expiration dates to ensure consumers can see if they have purchased the affected foods.
Mars Petcare Canada has advised consumers to check whether they have bought any of these products and to throw away the leftover food. The ingredients used to make the food contain raw materials that do not meet the required standards and should not have been put into production.
Mars Petcare has been very clear in their announcement, stating that this recall is completely voluntary due to an “abundance of caution” and that they have not received any customer complaints about the products listed below.
Mars Petcare is currently working tirelessly with all of its distribution centers and retailers of its products to ensure affected products are removed from shelves to prevent future sales.
If there are customers who have concerns about any of the recalled products, the customer service team will be happy to assist at 1-800-667-2424 where possible. The offices are open Monday to Friday from 9am to 9pm and on weekends from 9am to 5pm.
