Concord, New Hampshire – Now that 47% of Americans want to include more vegan foods in their diet, this Thanksgiving promises to be the most vegan. To help vacation planners plan their meals, PETA has createdpiegave a list Top 10 Vegan Pies served across the country, and Cola kitchenPeach Crumb Pie took one of the first places. This egg and dairy free confection consists of perfectly aged peaches in bourbon made in New Hampshire and served in a flaked wheat crust with a streusel top.
“Delicious peaches topped with buttery brown sugar crumbs make Col’s Kitchen vegan pie an instant classic treat,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “From pumpkin to pecan, PETA celebrates all vegan tarts that make it easy to enjoy a delicious vegan feast that leaves cows and chickens alone.”
Vegan desserts are not only free from saturated animal fats and cholesterol, but they also save animals a lot of suffering: in the dairy industry, calves are torn from their mothers shortly after birth, and in the egg industry, chickens are cut off. hot blade when they’re only a few days old.
Other winners include Sinfull Bakery in Houston; Clementine Bakery in Brooklyn, New York; Sweet Hazel & Co. in Murray, Utah; and Ezra’s Enlightened Cafe in Indianapolis. Every diner will receive framed certificate from PETA, which offers ThanksVegan, apple pie, pumpkin pie recipes, and more on its website.
PETA, whose motto is in part that “the animals are not ours to eat,” is opposed to arrogance, a worldview focused on human excellence. For more information please visit PETA.org or subscribe to the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram…
