San Antonio – Now that 47% of Americans want to include more vegan foods in their diet, this Thanksgiving promises to be the most vegan. To help vacation planners plan their meals, PETA has createdpiegave a list Top 10 Vegan Pies served across the country, and Southern Roots Vegan BakerySweet Potato Pie won first place in this category.
“From a perfectly flaky crust to a delicious custard with a blend of fresh sweet potatoes and spices, Southern Roots Vegan Bakery is a real treat,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “From peaches to pecans, PETA celebrates all vegan tarts that make it easy to enjoy a delicious vegan feast that leaves cows and chickens alone.”
Vegan desserts are not only free from saturated animal fats and cholesterol, but they also save animals a lot of suffering: in the dairy industry, calves are torn from their mothers shortly after birth, and in the egg industry, chickens are cut off. hot blade when they’re only a few days old.
