Norfolk, Virginia. – One day can make a huge difference, which is why PETA is bringing in over 100 restaurants and many other businesses across the country to celebrate Earth Day (April 22) by becoming a vegan and promoting vegan products throughout the day. at least…

Participating restaurants include favorites such as Boss ChicknBeer, a wing near Cleveland that will serve an all-vegan menu at one of its locations; Ike’s Love & Sandwiches, which will offer a vegan turkey sandwich sprinkled with its iconic Dirty Secret Sauce, with sales benefiting PETA in each of its 73 stores; The Village Restaurant in Lichfield, Connecticut, which will promote the Beyond Burger lean burger, vegan cobb salad and the new chick’n sandwich; and Juicy Kitchen in Ann Arbor, Michigan, which is adding vegan chocolate waffles to its menu. Food delivery companies Veestro and Fresh n ‘Lean will also be promoting their vegan food delivery services and using the #VeganForEarthDay hashtag.

“The sheer variety and variety of vegan foods available today are not only delicious, but they also save animal lives, conserve water, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and can simply bring you years of good health,” says PETA President Ingrid Newkirk. “PETA encourages everyone to be Power of nature by tackling the climate crisis with vegan food on Earth Day and every other day. “

PETA also runs propaganda ads in Longmont, Colorado as part of the Earth Day campaign.– (recently named one of the greenest cities in the country); –a trolleybus advertisement in Santa Barbara, California; and a billboard in Bakersfield, California. The group also installed a billboard featuring Pamela Anderson and the words “Meat and Dairy Farms Deplete Half of the Country’s Water” in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and in Savannah, Georgia, PETA supporters will shower on the sidewalk to show how animal husbandry drains fresh water supplies and pollutes groundwater, lakes and rivers. It is also a major cause of ocean dead zones, species extinction and habitat destruction – and is estimated to generate more greenhouse gas emissions than all of the world’s transportation systems combined.

Other participating restaurants include Barberitos in Asheville, North Carolina; Ben’s Chili Bowl in Washington DC; Inspired Traction in Gainesville, Virginia; Karma Baker in West Lake Village, California; Goro Ramen in Oklahoma City; and Curbside Arlo in Austin, Texas.

PETA, whose motto is in part that “the animals are not ours to eat” – opposes arrogance, a worldview based on human superiority. For more information please visit PETA.org or subscribe to the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram…
