Newark, NJ – BUT Reward from hero to animals from PETA is approaching 14 year old Sir Darius Brownwho created and donated more 600 butterflies for dogs and cats waiting at animal shelters to carry in photographs and when meeting potential adoptive parents – and his goal is to reach shelters in all 50 states. “I wanted to do everything in my power to help dogs and cats adopt,” he told PETA. “I think all animals deserve a loving home.” In 2018, Brown received a commendation from former President Barack Obama for his “commitment to community service.”

“Sir Darius Brown’s enormous heart has helped countless animals win the hearts of their future families,” says PETA Director Rachel Owen. “PETA recognizes his creativity, dedication and all-round heroism towards animals, and we hope he will inspire others to take action.”

PETA, whose motto is, “Animals are not ours to abuse,” points out that about 70 million dogs and cats in the United States are homeless at any given time. The group, along with Sir Darius, encourages families to adopt animals from shelters instead of buying animals from breeders or pet stores, and treating four-legged family members with toys, good food, exercise and affection.

PETA opposes arrogance, the worldview of supporters of human superiority. For more information please visit PETA.org or subscribe to the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram…
