An older woman, Lisa, accidentally discovers an old newspaper article with her photo as a three-year-old and a missing person’s ad while cleaning her attic. She was puzzled as she knew she was adopted by her late foster parents, M and Jacob, in 1952.

Lisa presumes she had been abandoned by her birth parents and left at the orphanage’s doorstep. Her grandkids try to search for clues on social media but find nothing.

They suggest Lisa take a DNA test, which she agrees to. Unfortunately, the test doesn’t yield any matches. Feeling disheartened, she decides to visit the local police station to check for missing person records.

To her surprise, they find a report filed for a certain three-year-old Lisa who went missing from a park. The report says to contact Alex and Doris, but the phone number provided is no longer active.

Lisa is thrilled as she recalls Alex and Doris as her parents. She explains that her great-grandparents took her abroad after adopting her, and they changed their contacts, making it difficult for anyone to reach them. The police find an address associated with the missing persons report, and Lisa decides to visit it.

At the address, an older woman named Janiece answers the door. Lisa shows her the newspaper article and her childhood photo, and Janiece bursts into tears, revealing herself as Lisa’s younger sister.

She explains that they were playing in the park when Lisa went missing, and their parents couldn’t find her. Janiece moved with their aunt Helen to New York after their parents’ death in a car crash.

Lisa is overjoyed to be reunited with her long-lost family and learns about her extended family. She chooses to return home and live with the family that raised her, while still maintaining a close relationship with her newfound relatives. Lisa is grateful she’s no longer the missing little girl in the newspaper and police archives.
