Clarksville, Virginia. – “Be a snippie with us!” This message will be sent by PETA in conjunction with World Sterilization Day (February 25) this Friday and Saturday when the group will team up with Lake Country SPCA and Operation Paws for Homes to neuter and neuter 120 animals in a mobile clinic… With fully booked appointments, PETA will work in two shifts to “fix” all animals – dogs and cats on Friday and only cats on Saturday.

“Neutering and neutering is helping to ‘fix’ the pet homelessness crisis and giving beloved cats and dogs a happy and healthy future,” says PETA Senior Vice President Daphne Nachminovic. “There is a Neuter Day every day for PETA, whose fleet of mobile clinics helps hundreds of animals every month – and has neutered more than 188,000 cats and dogs over the past two decades.”
About 70 million dogs and cats in the United States are homeless at any given time. An estimated 10% of them end up in animal shelters, where many end up being euthanized for reasons including injury, illness, old age, emotional and psychological damage, and lack of good homes. Virginia shelters hosted more than 222,000 lost and unwanted pets in 2020 alone, according to reports submitted to the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. The solution is simple: sterilization and sterilization. Sterilization also prevents a range of reproductive health problems and can lead to a longer, happier life.
