New York – Tomorrow, a group of PETA protesters wearing turtle masks and fake Canada Goose coats will visit the company’s store in Soho and turn on recordings of the screams of trapped coyotes to remind passers-by that there is death – coyotes. and birds – behind every jacket of the company. The protest is part of a week of action, which will also include Canadian Goose protests in Beverly Hills, California; Boston; Pittsburgh; and beyond.

“PETA is doing its best this week to rally shoppers against Canada Goose fur and feather coats,” said PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “When it comes to feeling pain, loving our families and appreciating our lives, birds and coyotes are no different from humans, and continuing to profit from the violent death of animals when there are so many wonderful, ruthless options available is unforgivable.”
PETA notes that trapped coyotes can die from exposure to the elements, blood loss, infection, or attacks by predators before hunters return to kill them. Geese and ducks used for down are usually stuffed into crates and sent to slaughterhouses in all weather conditions, where they are stunned, throats cut and dipped in burning tanks for emptying.
