Little Rock, Ark. – On the eve of Easter, PETA placed advertisements in 12 kiosks near churches and restaurants showing Moses grabbing a bunch of carrots, and reminded everyone that there are no exceptions to the commandment not to kill.

“Thou shalt not kill” should apply to everyone, including pigs, cows and chickens, ”says PETA vice president Daniel Paden. “This Easter, PETA is encouraging Christians to celebrate the resurrection with a compassionate vegan meal that leaves God’s creation alone.”

The Bible clearly states that God’s purpose for the world was one in which humans and other animals coexisted peacefully, and humans were guardians, not murderers. In Genesis 1:29, God says that the seed plants and fruits of the earth “will be your food.” But animals killed for food are living through hell on Earth: workers cut calf horns from skulls, chop off beaks of chickens, and castrate pigs without pain relievers; keep animals in dirty conditions in premises where they cannot follow their God-given instincts; and slit your throats in slaughterhouses.

On its website, PETA offers delicious Easter lean meat recipes and more, a free vegan starter kit with tips, and a vegan mentoring program that provides personalized advice on cooking, shopping and more.

PETA, whose motto is in part that “the animals are not ours to eat” – opposes arrogance, a worldview focused on human superiority. For more information please visit PETA.org or subscribe to the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram…

PETA ads will appear throughout the month in kiosks in the following locations, including subway locations, David’s Burgers, McDonald’s, Potbelly Sandwich Shop and Southern Ain’t Fried Sundays restaurants, as well as Christ Center Church, Capitol View United. Methodist Church, Episcopal Church of Christ and Church of New Life:

    • 434 W. Markham St.
    • State Capitol 172 (opposite the Capitol Building)
    • 101 E. Markham St.
    • 400 and 424 President Clinton Avenue.
    • 322, 417 (at two kiosks) and 524 Main St.
    • On the Arkansas River Trail, next to the William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum
    • 425 W. Capitol Ave.
    • Crossroads W. 15th and main streets
