# 10 Ugliest Animal: Naked Mole Rat
Naked mole rats are blind rodents that live in underground colonies. But their names are wrong, because the underground inhabitants are not moles or rats. Instead, they are most closely related to guinea pigs, porcupines, and chinchillas.
To be honest, naked mole rats aren’t even completely nude. People wear about 100 hairs on their bodies, which serve as a mustache for navigation. And while they may not be the most abundant species in Mother Nature’s menagerie, they live longer than any other rodent and are nearly immune to cancer.
# 9 Ugliest Animal: Drop Fish
With their slimy bodies and unbalanced features, bubble fish define what people think is ugly. Deep sea fish are found around the Antipodes and scientists first classified them in 1926. However, as they inhabit remote regions, bubblefish were not known to the public. Everything changed in 2003 when several people got on the expedition.
Since 2013, the drop fish tops the list of the ugliest animals in existence by the Society for the Conservation of Ugly Animals.

Known as “poor man’s lobsters,” and sometimes called “sea devils,” the marine features have large, flat heads, wide mouths, and relatively small bodies. They have small beady eyes, and humans tend to emit a slimy atmosphere that is less than inviting.
But the monkfish probably doesn’t give a damn about our aesthetic senses. After all, due to their unique appearance, they are well camouflaged in deep-sea dwellings – and being alive is more important than being beautiful!

“Jokers” of the African savannah, hyenas are skinny carnivores with distinct barking that enhances their creepiness. Hyenas are known for their disheveled coat, and their unruly hair only enhances their disheveled aura. But hyenas cannot be blamed for extravagance. Like a survivalist hunter who avoids waste, hyenas devour every inch of their prey.

Of course, their oddly shaped heads and large muzzles are not exactly attractive. However, warthogs make our list of the ugliest animals because of the fleshy “warts” that cover their bodies. But the bumps are not actually warts. Instead, they have built-in armor that protects the feral pigs during combat.
