Cumberland, Maryland. – PETA just won another victory in its successful Federal Endangered Species Act (ESA) lawsuit against the Tri-State Zoological Park and its partners: The US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit granted PETA’s petition for attorney fees and costs incurred in connection with a Tri-State appeal which he lost earlier this year. The ruling included the full amount PETA requested – $ 57,949.28 – and follows a previous ruling from the US District Court for the District of Maryland regarding fees and costs. the total amount that PETA is required to pay by Tri-State is $ 114,605.05.…
Meanwhile, PETA and concerned citizen Constance Collins are pushing forward another lawsuit, arguing that Tri-State’s documented failure to provide animals with proper veterinary care, proper nutrition, clean water and other basic necessities violates state law and constitutes a public nuisance. PETA’s goal is to get every animal from the Tri-State to suitable accommodations where they can finally get the attention of animal care experts.
